Spring Walks are held throughout Australia between 10th September (International Peace Day) and 10th October (Human Rights Day) in recognition of the fact that most women in developing countries walk more than 5kms each day for water and firewood for their families.

Each year, we ask people to donate $2 for each kilometre walked to UNIFEM Australia. The funds raised go towards supporting our Peace Scholarship Program, which brings women from developing countries to Australia to study.

It is easy to organise a walk. Simply decide where you are going to walk, contact your friends and set a date. Then you need to register your walk with UNIFEM Australia. Please download our Spring Walks Brochure, which has more information .
