It is my pleasure as President of UNIFEM Australia, to welcome you to our website.

We are very excited to be able to offer a quick and fast way of becoming a member online and we hope that if you are interested in supporting women in the Pacific and East and South-East Asia you will join us.

It has been an exciting year so far at UNIFEM Australia including another very successful International Women’s Day in March of this year, with over 12,000 attendees at more than 45 events across Australia. As a result we have transferred $100,000 to our Timor-Leste [1] project which seeks to enhance rural's women leadership and participation in Nation-Building.

There are some exciting events coming up including our Spring Walks [2] which begins on International Peace Day 21st September. Spring Walks seeks to raise awareness that many women and children across the developing world walk anywhere between 5 to 15 kilometres each day to gain access to water and firewood. Spring Walks is a great way to get a group of friends, family or work mates together for a great cause.
