The Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee is a dynamic network of young women and men that aim to encourage the involvement of young women and men in women's development and security, build-up young women's leadership capabilities and contribute and support the work and priority areas of UN Women Australia.
MISSION STATEMENT
Young UN Women Australia is a diverse network of young people committed to promoting gender equality and the advancement of women worldwide. Young UN Women Australia Sydney aims to:
• Engage young people in gender and development issues;
• Develop the leadership capacities of young women;
• Raise funds for selected UN Women projects; and
• Build a sustainable organisation.
Young UN Women Australia recognises the role that men can play in the advancement of women.
WHY YOUNG UN WOMEN AUSTRALIA?
The concept of Young UN Women Australia committees was initiated in response to the need for the key messages of UN Women Australia to be more accessible for young people. Run predominantly by young women, but indeed welcoming of men, the committee seeks to reach young people in Sydney, be it secondary students, university students or young professionals, through relevant events, inform and campaigns.

The Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee Executive encourages you to become involved in the planning and implementation of initiatives, projects and events that seek to execute our strategic objectives.
If you are interested in getting involved or would like to find out more about us, our upcoming initiatives, projects and events, we encourage you to attend our monthly meetings. Attending our meetings is an ideal way to become an active member of the Young UN Women Australia Sydney Committee, whether it be organising an event, brainstorming fundraising opportunities for UN Women Australia Projects or meeting like-minded passionate young women.
